Testimonials

Here's what people have to say

"I began working with Edward in 2015. He was my first powerlifting coach, and he was the right one if I was to want a long, enjoyable training career.

We established a common language where, if movement was to be corrected, we would know just how to communicate that and make the necessary adjustments on the spot. Ed made sure we were on the same page as to what good technique looked and felt like—as individual as that is. At the same time, we established the principles of strength training and what getting strong really means.

My powerlifting career began under Coach Ed. I think that is where I truly got the best thing I could have out of training under Ed. The sport of powerlifting can either end abruptly from burnout and injuries, or you can cultivate and enjoy the process-oriented mentality and truthfully understand the professionalism and patience required for a long, successful career.

Sure, you may be a hobbyist and that is totally fine if that is your end goal with powerlifting. However, when I started working with Ed, we established early on what I wanted to get out of this sport. I am very grateful for the integrity and respect to the barbell Ed instilled in me early on."

"Before I started working with Ed, I felt my powerlifting training had plateaued. I was putting in the necessary time and effort to progress, but not seeing the results I wanted. I knew I needed a change, but wasn’t sure what aspects of training to adjust to make the kind of progress I wanted.

Training with Ed has made me feel like I can accomplish almost anything on the platform. Very quickly after we started working together, my lifts exploded; and they’ve continued to grow over the years alongside our athlete-coach relationship. His knowledge, patience, and love for the sport and his athletes is reflected in how he conducts himself and his business. He always has time to help me troubleshoot a misgroove, talk me down when I’m panicking about a set, or collaboratively discuss with me how we’re going to approach the next block of training.

With Ed as my coach, I’ve accomplished more in the world of powerlifting than I ever thought was possible. I’m moving more and more weight and he’s shown me time and time again just how capable I am by believing in my potential as a both a lifter and as a person.

Aside from seeing my lifts go up more than I expected, I was surprised by just how available Ed is to his athletes. He is attentive, receptive to feedback, collaborative, patient, and willing to help. You can tell that he genuinely loves what he does and wants to see his athletes do well. Few people get as much joy watching others succeed as Ed."

"I had never achieved my desired performance or aesthetic outcome based on my own internet research and programming, or classes at various gyms. I switched from sport to sport because I couldn’t find anything that could give me the results I wanted. When I became interested in powerlifting, I started as a total newbie and needed help on form along with programming and I knew there was no way I could get that by self-coaching.

I would go into the gym and do a few sets of a main lift but not know if I was doing it right or if it would lead to actually getting stronger over time. This demotivated me from committing to powerlifting.

Since training for a year and a half and competing, I have so much more confidence in the gym. I am so much stronger and know that I’m capable of more than I could ever think! And after Coach Ed encouraging me to compete, I also got to be exposed to so many other strong female athletes that show me I have a lot of room to grow and that is super exciting and motivating.

I actually want to keep powerlifting after doing a competition because I find it so fulfilling! I don’t feel the need to switch sports!"

"I had been chasing 315 bench for years and 3 separate times I made a focused effort on it, but never got it. I also set the clear goals with Ed and for myself for the year to total over 1k lbs and deadlift 405. The last challenge I didn’t fully realize i was facing was how uncomfortable/ not strong I was in my squat. I knew I didn’t feel strong squatting, but I didn’t realize how much better I could feel. I try to keep myself to my goals and, when I set them, really reach them. In other areas, I’m pretty good at it, so it really bothered me I couldn’t get this bench goal.

Training together literally helped me reach the 3 clear goals I laid out at the beginning and enjoy squatting. I learned to lift “by doing” over time, and working with Ed on more conscious cues was super impactful. I previously “just did it”, so small form issues were super hard to address. I feel like I can really feel and understand what’s going on at each part of the lift and what to cue to adjust what’s needed. I definitely loved the ability to record my form and get reliably insightful feedback on any workout.

I’m surprised at how much room I had to grow and learn. I was absolutely shook at the drastic impact different training approaches can have, and when done correctly not lead to injury. I feel so much more informed and confident in lifting, and now I bench 3 plates 😎."

"Before working with Coach Ed, I felt like I was hitting a Plateau. I felt like no matter how hard I work, I wasn’t developing in either of the big three lifts. It affected my daily life because I wanted to get as strong as possible but no matter what I was doing, It never felt like enough.

Ever since working with Coach Ed, all my lifts have felt superb from a physical and technical perspective. My Squat, Bench, and Deadlift have skyrocketed enormously. Every time I lift, it feels like I hit a new type of PR each day, whether its weight for reps, or just added weight in general.

In daily life now, I can feel comfortable knowing that the work I’m putting in is paying off! The biggest surprise is how much my PRs have grown each week and meet!"

"I have a previous injury of a herniated disc so when I would deadlift and sometimes squat, it would aggravate my old injury. I’ve never felt my quads more when I squat than I do now with proper form. I can also now deadlift and actually feel the load in my posterior chain.

On my last week of volume my hamstrings tired out when I was deadlifting, which never happened to me before. I used to have to stop deadlifting due to pain. Lifting doesn’t hurt as much anymore."
